The Second Project Meeting Was Held in Lithuania
The project titled “Raising Awareness Among Farmers on Reducing Pesticide Use and Alternative Pest Control Methods for Environmental Sustainability; Safe Food for Consumers”, supported by the European Union, coordinated by Gaziantep University, and carried out with the participation of the Food and Feed Control Central Research Institute as one of the project partners, continues its international activities without slowing down.
Following the kick-off meeting held in Gaziantep, the second international management meeting of the project was held on 28–29 May 2026 in Kaunas, Lithuania.
International Partners Met in Lithuania
Hosted by Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) in Lithuania, the meeting was attended by the project coordinator, Gaziantep University, as well as partner institutions including the Food and Feed Control Central Research Institute and delegations from the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest (USAMV) in Romania.
At the opening session of the meeting, the project coordinator, Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Göğüş, provided participants with detailed information on the activities successfully completed so far and the project’s roadmap for the upcoming period.
Digital Training Materials and Multimedia Outputs Were Reviewed
One of the main agenda items of the meeting was the evaluation of project outputs developed to support sustainability in agriculture and ensure the delivery of safe food to consumers.
The outputs prepared by the project partners to be published entirely through digital environments and platforms included:
- E-books aimed at raising awareness among farmers and producers,
- Technical presentations to be used in training sessions,
- Videos and animations designed to increase visual awareness and accessibility.
These materials were carefully reviewed and evaluated. It was emphasized that these innovative digital outputs will make a significant contribution to raising awareness among farmers on reducing pesticide use by reaching wider audiences.
The Next Stop: Romania
At the end of the highly productive two-day program, carried out within the scope of project sustainability and management planning, it was decided that the next international meeting would be held in November 2026 in Bucharest, Romania, hosted by USAMV.
